Our Story:

NLC Engineering is a reputable company established in 2002 and is under new ownership. Neil Pownall and Phil Cole acquired ownership of the company on the evening of 15 January 2024. The company has been operating in Kalgoorlie and servicing the Goldfields-Esperance region but is now expanding its services to the Pilbara region. 

The GM, Neil Pownall (on the left), has over 30 years of experience in the mining sector, having worked locally and internationally in operations and maintenance roles. He has worked in both underground and surface environments and has held various positions, from being a fitter to being the GM of the largest ground support division in the southern hemisphere at the time. Neil understands the importance of timely repairs and parts return, having experienced site-based roles himself.

Phil Cole (on the right), the Director, has over 15 years of experience in the mining sector and is a qualified Mining Engineer and First Class Mine Manager. With over 5 years of experience in underground manager positions both locally and overseas, Phil understands clients' operational needs and focuses on safety, risk mitigation, and fast turnaround times. He has a clear vision of the mining industry as a positive force in the world and a great place to work.

We use high-quality raw materials and have a team of skilled professionals who can best use them. Our GM is a boilermaker by trade and has identified areas within our fabrication shop that could bring added benefits to our customers. The shop is equipped to handle buckets, sticks, and other general repairs, as well as most medium-sized fabrication works. We have a state-of-the-art CNC dual-fuel plasma cutter, which can handle materials up to 100mm thick.

Our plant and equipment are well-maintained and regularly upgraded, enabling us to offer state-of-the-art line boring, general machining, and engineering services across the region. This minimises technological mishaps and ensures the delivery of quality results every time.
